Press statement by the spokesperson of the Royal Government of Cambodia on the Thai incursion into Prey Chan village, O’Bei Choan commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province

The Royal Government Spokesperson Unit (RGSU) of the Kingdom of Cambodia issued a press statement condemning the actions of Thai forces on the morning of 10 October 2025, for allegedly encroaching upon Cambodian territory in Prey Chan village, Banteay Meanchey Province, by conducting a mine-clearing operation and using excavators on land previously fenced off in August 2025.

The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) views this as a grave, arrogant, and reckless violation of Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the imposition of Thai law within Cambodian territory. The statement asserts that this action violates the Ceasefire Agreement (28 July 2025), the spirit of the GBC and RBC meetings, the MOU 2000, and International Humanitarian Law by displacing civilians. Cambodia demands that Thailand immediately cease the encroachment and calls on the international community to condemn the aggression.
